Today, the threat has escalated, especially in Northern Nigeria. The worry is about terrorists wielding some of the most dangerous weapons, who will waylay travellers and instead of taking money and goods, will march whole busses into captivity in the bush. People were so wary they moved to taking the train, up to the point where terrorists successfully <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/humanglemedia.com\/almost-2-months-after-train-attack-terrorists-abduct-30-on-abuja-kaduna-highway\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">orchestrated<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an attack on it on March 28, this year, stopping the operation of the railway completely.\u00a0 Barely two months later, about 30 commuters were abducted between Kurmin Kare and Katari in Kachia Local Government Area (LGA). Katari is about 148 km from Kaduna city and 111km from Abuja, just short of midway between the two cities.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One reason why the road that connects Kaduna and Abuja is arguably the most well-known terrorist infested route is because of its link to Abuja, the country\u2019s capital. But there is another that is probably more dangerous in the state, so much that commercial and private vehicles wait until they have police, military, or vigilante escorts \u2013 this is the Kaduna to Birnin Gwari expressway. The strip of road, from Buruku to Undawa, is called &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/humanglemedia.com\/amid-terror-travelling-the-red-zone-from-kaduna-to-birnin-gwari\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Red Zone<\/a>\u2019 by travellers. The \u201cRed Zone\u201d is surrounded by deserted communities. People have fled to avoid the armed groups.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perhaps the most little known or least publicised <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/humanglemedia.com\/kadunas-displaced-1-how-kafari-locals-experienced-slave-room-in-captivity\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">abduction spot<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the road passing through a small community called Kafari in Chikun LGA. Then there is also Kachia road, about 92 km away from Kaduna to the east of the city,\u00a0 in the Southern part of the state. Victims from here were once <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/humanglemedia.com\/how-kadunas-abducted-encountered-nigerian-military-after-regaining-freedom\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">released<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on a path leading to Sabon Gaya, a settlement in Chikun alongside several others from Kakau Daji. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Funtua Road that connects to Birnin Gwari is another risky road, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanguardngr.com\/2022\/09\/terrorists-block-birnin-gwari-funtua-road-kidnap-scores-loot-shops-in-kaduna\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reports<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have shown.\u00a0 In september this year, locals in the area have appealed to the authorities for security as terrorists continuously block the road to commit mayhem.
